Vacation Time for PR and All Leaders, and a Post-Labor Day Announcement

If you’re like many in the fields of PR, communications, marketing, leadership, or coaching, you may be taking the next week off.  Some, in light of what they’ve experienced since mid-March, are taking two weeks’ vacation, returning after Labor Day.

We’ll be taking time off too and won’t be posting any Taking The Lead videos for the next few weeks. And we’ll be getting ready for an announcement just after Labor Day.

But even on vacation, we can prepare ourselves for any uncertainty and the possible leadership challenges in the coming months by truly savoring our vacation time. Here are four activities we’ll be doing:

  • Experiencing Nature: Get out, smell the fresh air, savor the sunrises, the sunsets, and the stars;
  • Being Physical: We’ll be doing lots of hikes;
  • Being Mindful: While we’ll be laptop-free, you can bet we’ll be using our Headspace and Calm apps on our mobile phones; and
  • Savoring: We’re fortunate that we’re going somewhere with a low COVID-19 count, lots of choices when it comes to nature, many places to be physical, and that boasts wonderful food. So yes, we’ll be indulging, always outside, and preferably with good natural views.

If you’re taking a week off, or two, or just a long Labor Day Weekend, then I encourage you to truly enjoy where you are, and the people you’re with.

And please stay tuned for our post-Labor Day announcement!
